Commitment in the health sphere has characterized Associazione KIM since its foundation.
Requests for help concern children suffering from serious illnesses: predominantly leukaemias, heart diseases, malformations and – unfortunately constantly on the rise – wounds and traumas caused by bomb explosions. To intervene effectively, the Association can rely on a dense network of contacts and collaborations established over many years with the main hospitals in Rome, and a number of other Italian facilities.
We provide assistance to our small patients during the whole treatment pathway:
- during their hospital stay (assistance in the relationship with the medical staff, support, keeping company, accompaniment)
- in the reception centre during periods of convalescence (paediatric checks and visits, the supply of medicines)
- in their own country of origin, once back home (remote monitoring, sending of medicines if necessary)
Often children come back many times to Italy to continue the treatment or for new medical checks.
